Nice stuff. I like the last seahorse, too bad the top got clipped. You can probably get away with a bit more color saturation in your images.
I like your picture of the Arrow Crab the most. I never realized they had blue pincers!
Are you sure that those are pictures of a Spotted Drum, Equetus punctatus? and not a juvenile Cubbyu, Pareques umbrosus. Still in the Drum Family, but slightly different according to Humann and Deloach "Reef Fish Identification". The black dorsal fin line continues all the way through to the tail on their Spotted Drum. The reason I am curious is that I was just out in Key Largo and Key West last week and never really got an in focus picture for myself. Everyone there was calling them, like your picts, a Spotted Drum. I'm just confused. ![]()
You may be right. I have a hard time telling apart spotted drums, highhats, and jackknife fish when they are juveniles. I probably should have left out the "identity" since I'm not sure. Sorry for the confusion!
Nice stuff, Doug. It is a great dive. I loved my one visit and hope to do more... It really is a treasure trove, as long as there haven't been any aquarium collectors diving there for a while. They have a habit of collecting all the treasure!

I agree. That's why I always hesitate when people ask me where to find the seahorses, etc. under the bridge. I'm always thinking there may be some tropical fish collectors lurking in the shadows!
By the way, Jim and Laz tell me there are now FOUR seahorses under the bridge. They've been diving down there a lot when Shear Water is back in port. And, in some photos the yellow one looks pregnant so we may have tons of them down there soon!
