Suggestions Needed

I am pretty happy with my 20D, Subal, Inon, etc. but there are times that a simple P&S makes sense. Any recommendations for a good little camera that can take nice macro pics, clip to a BC and without so much shutter lag that all fish are from the rear.

Great question. With so many new cameras coming out, what is the latest and greatest p&s to house?

Some current favorites are the Olympus SP350, the Canon S and A series, and some of the newer Coolpix models.

Before you buy a compact, check to see if the manufacturer makes a housing, and also that you can control the Aperture and Shutterspeed.

I had a Nikon S3 for a while, which I had some fun with:

I died pretty quickly though, and I have gone back to using a tougher Canon Ixus - although I am not intending on taking the Canon undewater.

The Nikon S3, although broken, still serves its primary use as a model's camera.
