Thread glue?

  1. I have bought the L&M/ULCS light attacment for the Bluefin HD housing to be able to use my ULCS arms for video lights. Do you use any type of thread lock glue or similar to secure the attachment, and if you do, what type/brand works for UW use?

    Sincerely

  2. I would suggest using an anti-seize compound vs a locking agent. You will need to disassemble for maintenance. Fasteners left in place for extended periods become very hard to remove when they live in saltwater, to the point where you may break something getting them out.

  3. I've experienced the ocassional unscrewing when adjusting arms and the ULCS folks suggested a bit of teflon tape to help tighten the threads. Seems like this might address the need for anit-seize compound also.

  4. Thanks, I will try the teflon tape and see how that works. I would prefer the tape over thread lock glue.

Many thanks for the good advice from both of you.

    Sincerely

  5. I have used medium grades of "lock tight" and it works great. The grades are rated on how mucht they "lock" in the screw.
