First, let me thank this board and all of the experts who post here. Y'all are incredible and most helpful!
I'm getting ready to make my maiden Ikelite housed Nikon 200 dive and was wondering what white balance setting y'all would recommend?
I intend to shoot in the manual mode at 1/60 to 1/80th with and F8 stop and adjust from there.
What do y'all think?
It's been reccomended to me to use "cloudy day" option for WB, I understand that it accounts for the blue hue better. The other option is ir set it manually, this is very easy, but I understand that it must be done evertime you change depth significantly (5m or so).
I haven't put any of this knowledge into practice yet, still scrapping pennies together for my D200 housing, so if anyone knows better, pls correct.
Take care,
John
I shot my d200 the first time in Little Cayman, I set the camera on ttl flash, I was using inon z240s great results.
I tried raw and jpeg. Raw is the best way to shoot, pictures lost something with jpeg, If you use jpeg set to vivid
I used cloudy in jpeg works fine, I used auto in Raw, but corrected to cloudy in the raw converter.
I would highly recommend shooting underwater in RAW and Auto WB. You can adjust the WB anyway you want in Raw, but my first use of the D200 yielded very little WB correction for macro shots and just a little more for WA.

I do the same thing as Karl....Auto WB and shoot everything in RAW...very little correction required
