Expired passport

  1. We leave for the Caribbean Explorer on Saturday 6-10-06.

Thursday morning at 10:48, I looked at my wifes passport and it had expired on 5-22-06. "Honey....We have a PROBLEM!"

We called the 800 passort line and found out that St. Martin and St. Kitts will accept an expired passport within 30 days as long as one has other forms of US ID. (Birth cert or Voter Reg card with a DL.)

"BUT" said the Passport lady..."The Airlines Will NOT allow you to board and international flight with an expired passportt." Swell.

Short version is that we FLEW down to Kinko's and got the Passport photos and drove Warp 7 to downtown Houston to make a 12:30 scheduled appointment.

We got through the lines, paid $67 for the Passport and another $60. to expedite it.

She received her new Passport at 3 PM the same day!

    Wow!

Just be sure to check you expirations!

    Dive cheerfully! Ron

  2. I guess it was 'Houston....we have a problem!"

  3. Just be aware that many countries now require that your passport be good for at least 6 months before entering the country. So if your passport is more than 9 years old you best get it renewed.
