herbko (handmade optical fiber link)
Could you tell me, what kind of matter did you use, and how does it work ? I have got a some case and an AQ/S srobe for my Aquashot. It would be great to use with my Olympus.
Thanks

It's tricky to sync the strobe with an Olympus.
You have to get the right size fiber so that the preflash
does not trigger the strobe, but the second flash will.
I used an 1mm fiber from

Thanks!
I haven't found concretely on this page, what fiber did you use. Can you help me ?
(sorry for my english)
Herb, I saw your rig with the Oly hsg and Ike A35. I want to use my A35 with and Ike 6130.1 housing. Any tips on how to do it? Also I lost the website where fiber optic connection was described. Can you give me that too?
I never did do a detail write up on my setup. Most of the info you need is in
the photo you see posted most recently under the "post a photo of your rig"
string in this forum.
I experimented a little and found that a 1mm fiber did the trick.
I did buy the fiber from www.web-tronics.com, although when I went
back and looked today, I couldn't find the fibers again.
You should be able to find 1mm fiber somewhere.
The link is held together by velcro and bottle caps.
I did this BEFORE the digital compatible strobes came out.
Today, I would spend the extra couple hundred and get one
with a proper trigger circuit. A big problem with the A35
is that it's too bright for macro even with a diffuser on,
and the camera aperture set to F11.
I just replaced this setup with 2 YS90DX,
and I've gone wireless as described in another discussion.
