<---- The only thing that wiped that off my face was having to leave. I couldn't have asked for a better mix of resort style relaxation and cool diving at the same time. My wife, 2 kids (4 and 12 years old) and I embarked on a week long excursion that began on June 7th and ended yesterday. We stayed at the Iberostar Hotel which had a Dressel Diver's Shop on the beach. First the package deal...we got 7 days all-inclusive with 5, 2-tank dives. This included a free kids club which ran from 10:30AM in the morning until 5PM in the afternoon. This worked out great because we were able to get in a couple of afternoon dives each day. The total package price was $1999 not including air. We spoke to a couple of other folks who had 4 day packages with air (Couples from Toronto and Texas)for around $500-600 dollars each.
Dive shop: - The guys were terrific and tried to accomodate every skill level they were presented with. For the most part, the dive groups were small and they did their best to group skill levels together. The boat rides were all really short with the longest boat ride being 20 minutes.
The Dives - Someone said not to expect world class diving...well I'm not sure it was world class but after diving through caverns and seeing reefs that were truly bouncing back faster than one could imagine after the pounding they took last year, I was extremely satisfied with my dives. One drawback to photography (here's the excuse for taking lousy pics 
) was that every dive had current. Most were mild but there were some (Tormentos Reef) where it was really humming along. Needless to say you had one opportunity to take a shot or you were going to expend some energy and air trying to remain still. Of course the two dives I didn't take my camera (deep dive and night dive...both were firsts) I saw creatures I really wanted to photograph. I had the largest moray I've ever seen outside of an aquarium swim under me within a few feet and give me a nice smile. I was absolutely positive that would have never happened with my camera in hand. 
Service and Hotel - were outstanding. Our kids were well taken care of while we were diving and there were shows nightly to entertain both the little kids, and us big kids. Awesome...so much so that we're not thinking of heading anywhere else next year.
