Well, I dropped my Fiji fantasy for now and guess I better cash in my two trips I won and have yet to use. I'll be going to Malaysia to dive Sipadan and then to Thailand on a 11 day liveaboard on the Angunn. I'll be gone for the whole damn month of December. B)
Question for you as I don't recollect the answer from my visit there when it wasn't a resort area 15 years ago. Does anyone know if I can take a van or ground shuttle from Sipadan Resort in Tawau to Sandakan where the Sepilok sancturary and resort are located? If not, I have to waste a day offgassing before I can fly there.
Also, how's the conditions in DEC in Sipadan? I suspect green and not too great viz.

If I recall correctly you can take ground transportation to the Sepilok sanctuary. I would check with an agent. Who is the trip through?

You can, we were told a couple of weeks ago by our agent (were travelling in August) the flights had been cancelled between Tawau and Sandakan and ground transport was the only way.
