  1. Hello, I'm thinking of buying a strobe and at one of the local store, they are selling the Bonica Neon-XP. I'd like to know what you guys think of this strobe?? In the same price range, there is also the sea & sea YS-15 that would fit my needs, can you post pros/cons for both strobes?

    Thanks in advance!

  2. I too was thinking of buying the Bonica Neon XP that was sitting in my local dive shop. I opted to upgrade a little for my P&S to an Inon D-2000. A friend and fellow diver with virtually the same Sony camera bought the Bonica. To put it shortly, he is frustrated :D and I am completely happy :) I believe his issues come from the fact that that strobe has no fiber optic slave cable to communicate to the camera. It fires off of a photo sensor, which means that myself taking pictures next to him will set his strobe to fire. The sun has fired his strobe when it hits the sensor just right. As this is his first ever strobe, there is also a big learning curve to manually set the strobe intensity. The TTL doesn't work well without a cable.

I'll contact him by e-mail right now and see if he has perfected his technique or things are still going the same.

  3. Hello ce4jesus, I already went to the site but Bonica is not in the chart so I cannot use it but thanks anyways! :D

IMSushi, I think I'm gonna go with it after the I spoke with the guy at the local store. I guess I just have to fins-kick the photographers that are too close to me :D

The worst that can happen is that it's going to be on sale on ebay at the end of august when I come back from Bonaire!! :)

Thanks for your input though, I'll keep what you said in mind and post back after my trip to give a report on how it went with the strobe!

    Thanks

Isotta
