Not the best shot, there was too much dust & plankton in the water and with the internal strobe only there are a lot of back scatters.
Who know what in the picture?

Alto. Give us a clue? Is there supposed to be something lurking in the 'hair netty' looking thing or are you asking what type of coral? it is.
It's a Nudibranch egg cluster - Maybe 'Spanish Dancer'.
Think you are right Bob.
Here's something similar. Spanish Dancer Nudibranch.

You’re right! It’s a Spanish Dancer eggs cluster.
My wife found it, I was sure its some hair netty but she insisted that I'll shot it, after the dive we found the description of that in the 'Red Sea Reef Guide' by Helmut Debelius.
That is the parent: (not the same individual but close enough)

It's nice to see Helmut got something right!!!
Nice shot - Who threw it?
Thanks, the shot is mine, it was taken at the Alternatives reef near Ra's Mohammed during a night dive.

What do you mean?
I been told it’s the best book for the Red Sea creatures, Is it not? ![]()
Alto, don't start him off on the Helmud trail!!!
Competition is rife amogst these UW journalists you know!
Ha Ha, no it's just a running joke after his publishers mixed up green and hawksbill turtle images in his Indian Ocean Reef Guide (My Bible). His Red Sea guide too is very concise, and rival the colins for info.
Are they egg clusters or egg casings? This one is from Hawaii.
