  1. Hi all,

New issue of DIVE (UK) just dropped through my door and there was a bloody great big Tigger shark staring at me.

Alex's artical on the trip to the Bahama's is in there somewhere but I'm off partying tonight so It will have to wait.

Great cover shot..Sort of "What you looking at" stare.

    Well done Alex.

  2. Ta Dean!

I have not seen the magazine, myself yet.

It just goes to show why Wetpixel trips are so great. I had never seen a tiger shark before, but going on the Wetpixel Bahamas trip allowed me to get some publishable stuff first time out. I picked up a lot of tips for shooting these guys from Eric and James. And also by watching everyone else on board. If you want sharks, the JASA trips are awesome.

The cover shot is nice, but nothing special:

But I am pleased with some of the shots inside the issue. You can see one by going to theDIVE Magazine online preview - I have a spread about half way through.

  3. "confessions of a shark virgin" <_< Go ahead and rub it in. I feel like the lovestruck teenager running around desperately trying to get a date on limited funds. As I read your article, I couldn't help but feel that the guys with the nicer cameras always get the sharks... I'll have to put away a little money and spring for a shark dive in the near future. BTW, you also had some great articles in Underwater Photography Magazine. The article on blues had me running back to my PC to check out the blues from my latest dive. I have to confess, when I first went through them I never noticed the different blues in each photo and some were truly "muddy".

PS...I read in the UWP that you're releasing a new version of the Magic Filter. Hopefully its some kind of conversion filter that you can screw onto a point and shoot  Right now, getting mine in and out of my housing is kind of a pain.

    Later,
