ikelite substrobe 150

I purchased a ss150 with charger on ebay and am confused on how to charge the batteries.Does the black battery pack come out?Where does the charger plug in?I realize these are stupid questions,but I'm not comfortable tearing things apart without a little instructions.Thanks for the help. <_<

The battery comes out. Grab the black part and pull. This will reveal the grey batteries and the opposite black ring. The contacts for the 'smart charger' are the same those used to contact the battery to the main part of the strobe. Hope this helps.

I tried to just pull out the battery pack,but it is held in by 2 screws.Here are some pics of the unit,in and out of the housing.I am assuming that I need an adapter to put in the housing on the 2 male pins to make it a female for the charger.

Looks like you are missing the battery pack. It fits in the space in the larger half of the strobe.

I took this quick snap since sending my previous reply. It shows two SS400's which differ from yours mainly in the electronics - same housing and battery pack. The one in the upper left has the battery pack insert while the upper right has it removed. I assumed the black part in your orginal post was the part protruding (upper left). The battery pack is in the lower center and has the smart charger cable attached via the adapter. The fitting on top of the battery pack is for the older style Ike chargers. The charging light is for them, the smart charger has its own charge status ights.
