Subal D 70 and DS 125

Good Afternoon,

I've just broken the strobecase sb 800....and i'd want to connect a DS 125 with a sync cordsikelite sub strobe with connectors nikonos for the subal..but even in manuel fonction,ds 125 doesn't work !!!...

Can you help me and have you got a solution ???

Hi,

I Think to find the solution, maybe:

It does exist two different sync cord : 1:#4104.6: TTL Nikonos - to - One TTL SubStrobe.

2:#4104.31 NonTTL Nikonos connector to one SubStrobe.

I think, i've got the first sync cord and it couldn't work !!!...

i suppose, i need the second ...and normally, it does work with subal !!!

Do i find the solution ????

Hello Laurent,

Firstly, try putting tape on the connection on top of the camera, so that only the large center electrical contact is exposed. Now try sliding the flash connection in the housing on carefully, so that those two contacts are the only two that touch.

Tell us if this works.

Yes , it works..when i put only the contact superficialy, the ds 125 works !!!!

then , it must be the sync cord !!..in fact i use the ttl sync cord !!!...

That's it then. You cannot connect all 5 pins between a Nikon iTTL camera and a non-iTTL flash. The camera will lock up and give you a flashing lightning-bolt symbol.

About Sync cord : iI received an email from Duane Brigham / ikelite : The proper sync cord for subal housing digital , to use manuel strobe ikelite is 4104.31...

In the front of your housing, where the flash connector plugs into the circuit board, there are 2 recepticals. One has 5 pins sticking up, the other has 3. Plugging the bulkhead into the socket w/ 3 pins will eliminate all tape and pin pulling nonsense.
