D200 Settings?

2 posts
  1. Now that many have had a chance to use the D200 in different situations what are some of the settings you are using? What has been most useful?

  2. I go all manual underwater, aperture priority above water. I set the metering to matrix, and then use the RGB histogram + thumbnail view to assess exposure. I have gone to ISO 800 underwater, but try to stay at 100 if feasible.

I use AF-C predominantly, but for night time wideangle using the 12-24 I set the focus manually at ~1.5 foot and use a small aperture (f11 to 14) to hold focus across the frame, then position the strobe to the appropriate distance for the aperture I'm using.

I have found (with the Sea and Sea 9" port and the 12-24 lens) that I need to be at f5.6 at least for reliably sharp edges. I don't use a diopter on the 12-24 with the 9" port.
