Underwater tripod, any tips???

5 posts
  1. Searching for a simple and not so expensiv tripod or solution for using underwater

I will use it for my strobes and camera. It must be light so i can travel with it and good agains corrusions

have think that maybe some light stand tripods will work but they will go corrused underwater...

The weight off the subtronic is almost Zero underwater so tte tripod must not be especially stable and i will use it only in pools

  2. There is some mention in this thread of the issues a user had with a light tripod: Underwater tripod?

  3. Matt soory i have seach before i have post my question.. how the hell have i miss it??????????? Maybe is late and i have wrote it in Swedish hehe

    Thanks for the link

  4. Buy a cheap one for a trip & don't worry about corrosion. Just leave it wherever you go & get a new cheapie for the next trip. This suggestion is for major trips. If you've going to use a tripod on a regular basis then maybe look for a better built one.

  5. Not exactly a tripod but I did add weight. Note the tie-wrapped dive weight (4 pounds, ~ 1.8 kg). There is another on the other side. The weights are attached to an old Aquatica TLS bracket I had lying around. It is bolted to the bottom of the housing. A Seacam remote cord is on the end of the wire you see at the bottom. The hard-wired Inon strobes on arms are pointing topside at slave-fired strobes. This is a freshwater set-up but a tad colder than your pool!!!!

I used the white neck strap to carry the camera, bracket, weights on my neck to the site since I needed my hands for balance, etc.
