pelican case alternative?

  1. Hi Guys,

Due to thieves targeting pelican cases...I was wondering if anyone can suggest a alternative for a pelican case?

    Cheers :)

  2. How about putting your pelican case inside a slighty larger regular suitcase ?

I wonder if the thiefs are luggage handlers, TSA agents or regular people. Not sure you can do much to hide things from the TSA guys, but I bet if your pelican is inside a crappy looking regular suitcase the luggage handlers and standard thiefs won't guess you have big dollar items in there.

  3. There was a similar thread in the photo section a few months back. Here's my solution: regular suitcase, with thick foam padding custom-cut to suit your equipment. Looks like this:

  4. I have a Doskocil case for my housing...(Similar thing)

I have only used it a few times but carried it inside my main check in dive case.

I usually pack the housing etc tightly in my towels and clothes and put it straight in the dive bag as its got a 'hard' compartment...Never had any probs there.
