ETTL with a Housed Canon D60

4 posts
  1. Does anyone have any experience with housed canon strobes (550EX) with a

housed D60 camera? I know that UW-Germany and possibly SeaCam offer

housings for the 550EX strobe. both require a proprietary S6 connector.

Is there any solution for my Sea & Sea D60 housing?

  2. You'd have to jury-rig your own setup. You could probably just attach a different bulkhead to the 2nd bulkhead on the Sea & Sea and wire up a hotshoe-connector that hits all of the pins.

  3. I am the worlds biggest canon fan....its all i own and all i shoot.

that said, IMO Canon's Ettl flash system blows whale boogers when it comes to underwater shooting. They get so damn protective of their "ettl" and wont share it with people that could help them sell more gear.

  4. I wonder if the Canon ST-E2 remote transmitter would work underwater? Although, the range would probably be like 3 inches since it uses infrared. :)
