  1. Well even though I’m in a little bit of a somber mood tonight, watching the extremely interesting 3 hr American Experience pgm about the Twin Towers on PBS; I am happy that I’ve finally got a website up that I think you all will like.

I’m not in any way a web designer; in fact I’m very technically challenged so I used the Mac iWeb program.

I’m overall very happy with the result. Of course I only have so much time to get it up and running so my “Bonaire†and “Indo†galleries are somewhat lacking, but now after it is created will be the easy part now, to find/sort through additional photos to fill it out and create more galleries.

Plus there is a quite poignant story I wrote on the site called, “Winter the Tale of the Dolphin Who Lost Her Tailâ€. It is worth the time to read it; she has been on the news a bit also.

New Web Add: (PS sorry I don't know why this didn't display a live link? - ahhh, a new feature, let me see if I can figure it out....... :P )

    Here are 3 “teaser photosâ€:

I've got several of these diving cormorants from the Florida Springs; yes I got a supreme workout!

I've also just written a blog on a northern stargazer that looks like Jack Horkheimer!! I kid you not. See the blogs on my site it is the latest one.

She was on the news yet again a few days ago. I have had the absolutely wonderful privilege of helping her recover. My "uncomplimentary" face is actually cause I'm "buzzing" with my lips to make her fav sound. I told the young interns I was training - it doesn't matter what YOU look like if it makes her happy!!! :-) Read her full story on my site, it is quite touching. Ryan Canon had been after me for a while to write it, and now I finally got it done. She is such a sweetheart. Winter is her name. And yes, Wyland may paint her??? :-)

  2. great effort Carol...

    some really interesting stuff there!

    Thanks for sharing

  3. You have some wonderful images. The dolphin and manatee stuff really tells a story and some of the other subjects - like the stargazer - are very unusual. Thanks

  4. Thanks all!

Hope to get lots more posted soon.

Yup, I've actually got a lot more stargazer, etc pics, banded jawfish displaying for a mate, building a den, etc etc. I like unusual stuff I usually don't encounter. And it is from Florida, one of the most "dived" states in the world!! I think people just don't tend to look for the really cool stuff here too, but it is all over the state! B)

Plus when you find and photo a fish in Florida that hasn't been photoed much, well it is really something because species are so well documented here.

But then I have some interesting Indo, etc stuff too if I can just get the time to find and post it.

After my next big trip - I'll catch up............., and I'll try to keep everyone updated on the Cryptic Species Surveys in Biscayne Nat'l Park, last one next week, always find unusual stuff there and get to photo it for the Park Service museum collection too.

    Thanks again, Carol

  5. Cool stuff! I really enjoyed your galleries.

  6. Carol,

More great piccies there, glad to finally meet you here in Wetpixel. I now have a kind of broadband connection so I can at long last make posts here. It's great being able to browse and see what the dive world is up to and chatting about.

  7. Great Graham,

I'm ashamed of my Indonesia gallery but then it was just a start up!!! I have to find all the numerous pics and make web copies, will get that gallery more "fleshed-out" by the end of the year.

Good to hear you can browse now with a somewhat better connection!! B)

Wish I was going to Alor with you guys again, but alas for some reason I picked British Columbia this year........., am I OK????

I'll keep the blogs going on my site.

Have a good time and good luck to all!

    Best, Carol

  8. Carol,

You have great photo's from your indonesia trip, I'm sure you have mnay more as well, how did your rhinopias shots come out? Can't wait to see if they are still on that site, it'd be very cool if they were hey!

I really can't wait to get bakc into Alor, I have many photo's for the locals, if you have one or two piccies of the local people in any of the billages we went, please send them over so I can get them printed framed and give them out, they really love recieving images of themselves...

Have a great time in British Columbia, I'm sure you'll love it, it's wet, they have marine life you've probably never seen and it is adventure and something new for you.

    Go enjoy...
