TSA latest cans and can'ts for US air travel

  1. Since the London debacle, TSA has revised the list of thing travellers can bring as cabin luggage and checked bags. The new list is at :

    http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/pro...ited-items.shtm

Note that TSA has put in great consideration for frequent traveller club members, including the mile high club folks. You are allowed 4oz of essential lubricants like KY Jelly, great for that sudden urge to join someone in the bathroom for some hanky panky.:lol:

Funnier still is that you'll have to look and smell pretty ragged as you'll have to do without moisturizers, mouthwash, toothpaste and other toiletries.

For the young at heart, your transformer toys (specifically listed so I suspect the web master is a big fan) are allowed. :glare:

The good news is that you can still bring cameras and the like. Strange how they compile this list and also leave the final say at the discretion of the security personnel at the airport.

I've flown a few domestic airlines flights and have been upgraded so I had water to drink etc. But I know some airlines don't offer food or beverage without payment. Interesting times to travel in this age of security alerts.

  2. Great info, thanks for sharing. I actually fly out tomorrow.

  3. Thanks for that post subadru. It sure brought a smile to my face. The TSA list is good for a chuckle too. Funny that I can bring a corkscrew onboard, but can't bring a bottle of wine to open with it.

I'm off to Costa Rica in a couple of weeks and I'm happy to know I can get onboard with that gel-filled bra I just bought from VictoriasSecret.com. Would have been a shame to only let the TSA baggage checkers enjoy that!

  4. I'm glad that I will be able to bring my screwdriver (7" and shorter of course), compared to my 4" or shorter scissor. What the F**k!!!!

As a medical professional, I have seen some major damage with screwdrivers and other tools (aka screwdriver "ice awl"). Who makes up these rules? I can understand the security issue, but then why not take away the screwdrivers, tools, and scissors? I know the trip to asia is long, but bring some extra magazines or a good book!

  5. When was the last time anyone carried a CATTLE PROD with them as carry on?! I always check mine the the cattle rustlers with my checked baggage..

I am glad to see that my allen wrenches are allowed...I was once told they could be used to dissasemble the aircraft..

Thanks for the update..this is acutally helpful for our upcoming trip.
