do you know of a house for rent in Tulamben area

9 posts
  1. 1 or 2 bedroom

for about 1month, a month and a half sometime in early november

walking distance from diveshops and/ or "town"

preferably a pool, but i guess that would be considered luxury already

any websites i can look into?had a look already but can only find luxury places, not my budget unfortunately

    thanks

  2. It would help if you told us what sort of budget you have, what facilities etc.

If you are looking for a villa with kitchen facilities, do you want to hire a full time cook etc?

If you just want to dive, just check with Scuba Seraya. Their beach front villa is very decent but no kitchen. The food is so so but there are a few restaurants nearby. If you work a package out, your diving will probably cost less too.

  3. around $700 maybe a bit more

i'll need a kitchen yes, cook: why not depends on costs

    housegirl preferably

    1 room will do

    pool?pool? pool?

definately walking distance, or public transport from "town"

no need for beach access, green area is great

does not need to be aircon, just fan is ok, (breezy place better)

yes dive photo!!! walk and hike a bit a plus

should be in tulamben area, or amed area, or scuba seraya area, since the housereef is so spectacular, don't wanna miss that

while we're at it : wanna see pygmy seahorse!!!!!! :D

    cheers

  4. well well well.... this sounds like news... hint hint on the email front...

  5. $700 is this your daily budget

Let me know what daily budget you have including your diving, if you want to see pigmies and the likes, your best to take a guide for sure. Diving up there without a guide is not such a good idea if you want to see the best critters and sites there are some great guides locally and a few great operators up there.

Have you tried Seraya yet? they should do you a decent deal for long term. If not get in touch with Tony at Tulamben Wreck Divers, he is one of a few that has a private kind of house up there. If you ask nicely he may rent it to you! Sorry no idea on his rates. I leave tomorrow so I won't be able to respond further to this unless it's today!

  6. $700 would be a month... def not a day!! hahaa

she works in the dive industry after all...

  7. Melo, if you're not going to hire a car and/or cook, then really having a kitchen is sorta redundant as there is no real supermarket in tulamben area (Denpasar/Singharaja the closest).

At $700 a month for accomodation, your best bet is to either approach the dive shop to see if they can help you or go to some place like Paradise where it's about $25 a day for a room, lower if you stay long term.

They have tank and weight rentals with guide inhouse and are about 400m from the wreck. Food is edible but next door to the mimpi and all the other restaurants in the area. Lotsa local stuff in the area as well.

If you have no idea who to use as an ops, I've used Bali International Dive Professionals (BIDP) for all my bali diving since 2000. They can probably help you with accomodation search too.

Hehe Graham, I could hear your cash register going KA CHING! For $700 a day, she wouldn't be asking here. And Seraya won't give her too much of a break during high season. It'd be bad business.

Hmmm mike, I've seen dive industry guys hit the clubs, get $1000 a night hookers and opps have I said too much about the spending habits of the dive industry?

  8. what? you haven't spent 6 months salary on a woman before?!?!

  9. Obviously my British sense of humour didn't come over too well -- aduh, as we say over here! This is why I mentioned the cheaper places to stay as well as Seraya.

If you don't mind sleeping in a musty smelly old room then sure Paradise is fine. However if you would like a little more quality and confort to go back to after your dives, then check out Tulamben Wreck Divers, brand new, clean as ya like rooms, great service and guides! If I need to go up there and don;t have the budget for Seraya this is where I'd go all the time. Yeah, I do like a bit of comfort, after spending many hours underwater I really enjoy a confortable bed to get my head down in ahhhhh!

Or spend the few bob extra and pop down to Seraya.
