Does anyone know why Sea and Sea has discontinued so many of their line of strobes-- even the top of their line? I was even having a difficult time locating some (formerly common) 5-pin sync cords for some YS-90DXs which have been great strobes for hundreds of dives . . .
They are being replaced by mercury free units.

Hi,
If that is the case, what component of the strobe contains the mercury? Is it some portion of the flash itself or something to do with its compliment of batteries?
Thanks for the info . . .
Shouldn't be the batteries since those are user-installed. Probably something on the inside of the strobes themselves.
Are you sure that shouldn't read "lead free"? Pretty much everything now has to be lead free (European WEEE directive stopped use in July), mostly relaced by Tin-Silver-Copper and Tin-Copper alloys. I assume Japan is following similar directives.
