Aquatica Ports, Ikelite Housing? Oil and Water?

4 posts
  1. I already have an investment into an Aquatica housing, dome port and macro port. For a whole series of reasons, I think that I'm going to land on the Canon 400D as my next camera. And since Aquatica is not going to be making a housing for the 400D, does anyone know how or if there is a way to use Aquatica ports on an Ikelite housing? Or am I looking at a complete swap out?

I just don't have any experience with Ikelite product line.

  2. I know some manufacturers (e.g. Hugyfot) offer adapters for Aquatica and other brands of ports, but I don't think Ikelite offers such items.

  3. I'm not aware of a solution for Ikelite.

We are having an adapter machined for Sea & Sea housings that allows aquatica ports to be used. Full Frame Fisheye lenses probably won't be compatible (the 10.5dx, Canon or Sigma 15 on FULL FRAME CANONS).

This should be available by the time we are ready to ship Sea & Sea DX-400D housings.

We also stock the Hugyfot adapter mentioned above. Their housing for the Rebel 350D was very nice.

  4. OK then. Thanks.

Do you think the housing will be available, or a demo of it at DEMA?
