Looking for a few adventurous people

  1. In April 2007 we will be making a trip to Indonesia and on to Irian Jaya to tour the Asmat and Korowai regions. Please note this is not a dive trip, but the diving around this area is also spectacular so you may want to combine this with diving.

This is a seldom visited area and according to a recent article in the Smithsonian Magazine is said to be home to the last known cannibals on earth (don't worry, they don't eat tourists). The Asmat tribes are famous for their beautiful artwork and the Korowai tribes live in tree houses and wear nothing more than leaves and gourds. :) Sure to be good for some spectacular photography! This is jungle trekking and camping. Much of the trip is done by dugout canoe and hiking, but you don't have to be a tri-athlete to join. We will have porters to carry our gear so you won't have to worry about that.

We're looking for several more adventurous souls to join us on this trip. If you've ever considered making this trip maybe now's the time! Dates and itinerary are tentative at this point, but we're shooting for around April 15, 2007 out of Bali. The trek will take about two weeks. I'll post a link to an information page on my website as soon as I have it done.

This trip is my first to the area and I am just looking to split costs with others. I'm not planning to profit from your joining us. I've been researching this area for several months now and have a pretty good package put together. If you think you might want to join us on this trip please contact me and I'll send you more details.
