Hartenberger Nano Light System

  1. I got a chance to look at the Hartenberger Nano Light System, Cost aside ($500) this looks to me to be the "best" primary dive light / high powered focus light on the market. It's very bright, has a even beam and is pretty small. Is anyone else using this light? I would be very interested in any feedback.

    Thanks!

I will be ;) Decided to buy the Nano instead of the Fisheye HD20 even though the Fisheye is lighter. I like the way the nano recharge works, 2 male lead inserted into 2 little water proof holes on the back. No need to mess around unscrewing the battery take it out like the Fisheye. Beam appears to be similar to the Fisheye, some like the dial switch of the Fisheye for changing light intensitity. It doesn't matter too much for me. Nano feels much heavier then the Fisheye, so it could be a deciding factor. I am using a UK Canon 100 at the moment (http://www.digitaldiver.net/yabbse/index.php?board=3;action=display;threadid=22287;start=0), so anything will be lighter.

    Thx!

  3. I had a fisheye die on my last trip and bought a nano on board. I really like the nano. It's a great focus light as long as you get the addon frosted glass.

Pro: very robust sofar, easy to charge, little maintenance, lots of double o-rings, handy bulb/oring storage inside the lamp.

Cons: expensive, little heavier, expensive, a bit too bright even on the lowest setting (I couldnt approach basket stars with it, which I could with the fisheye), expensive, doesnt come with spare bulbs which I think is quite absurd as it's so expensive.

Since Ive wanted to throw my fisheye overboard on many occasions I think the nano is a pretty decent alternative.
