  1. I've been working up a revised site from the last trip to Palau & Truk. It's pretty extensive, about 8 packed pages worth, lots of photos, complete dive journal. Also some photos from local Pacific Northwest diving.

Shot with a Sea & Sea MMII ProEx system, scanning on a Polaroid 4000+ film scanner.

I'll be adding back in my Fiji photos and others soon.

    Check it out at:

Enjoy! Let me know what you think!

  2. Hi Jack,

Nice piece of documentation that will be a useful source of info for people contemplating a similar trip.

I'm impressed with your site as it's quick delivery and simple aesthetics are a refreshing change from the long dragged out norm!

    Any relation to Harry jnr?

    Cheers,

  3. Thanks, Bob!

Well, as a graphics designer I know my way around a website...

I worked hard at documenting the week in Truk, it was fun to do and makes a gray day in Seattle interesting.

I do hope others get something from it in terms of trip/dive planning.

    Cheers!

    Jack ;)

  4. Wow, that's a lot of deco diving! I too agree that your dive journal and pics are excellent. Now we need to get you to go digital! Just imagine being able to fire off 200 shots on one of those deep dives!

    Cheers

    James

  5. Wow, great site, lots of detail on the dives! Certainly was a lot of deco diving, especially for 4-5 dives per day. The San Francisco was probably a memorable experience, at least negating the narcosis... ;)

  6. Thanks.

Just remember, you're always deco diving. Usually it was only on the first 2 dives. Our deco was usually 6-9 mins or so, and if we did deep stops, a lot of it cleared by the time we got to 15'. But we did hang on the hang bar a lot. I still think they need a TV there. Got interesting at night with the sharks...

EAN 30 gave us nice dive times and clear heads.

When the digital SLRs & housings become more affordable I will probably switch. But I really like my MMII. Working with different emulsions and a really good slide scanner (Polaroid 4000+) gives incredible images. Spent a long time scanning stuff though...

My dive buddy shot with her 3030 Tetra and I have to say I like my images better, although she did get some nice shots also (not on the web). I am maybe going to add a few of hers to my site, ie the Fumazuki, where I hosed a roll, didn't have the W/A set to infinity.

Here's one of me futilly shooting the prop.

  7. I've updated my photo website again and added back in my Fiji fotos from a year ago in the new format along with an article about the trip.
