Universal Power Strip/Surge Protector?

3 posts
  1. I recently returned from a dive trip to the Philippines where the electricity is 220V. A number of my battery chargers (strobes and laptop) are universal in that they auto adjust between 110-240V.

Is there such a thing as a universal power strip/surge protector that also auto adjusts to different voltages?

A quick Google search, as well as a Wet Pixel archive search, didn't seem to turn up any such beast.

    Thanks!

    Try this place: http://traveloasis.com/voltage-converters.html

It's not an integrated converter/strip, but if you really need a converter they have them cheap. I carry about 7 different chargers on travel and they all accept 110-240v. So I have no need for a converter. I do however travel with a universal surge protector after blowing up 2 x 110v surge protectors in the past. having my own surgeprotector/strip was very helpful in some of the places I've been.

    hope that helps.

  3. I ended up buying a 220V surge protecting power bar that has universal outlets on it. It can be found here: http://www.voltageconverters.com/itemdesc....D}&ic=BB136

I haven't tested it with dirty power, but have tried it with 110V and it works fine, although I doubt that it actually surge protects on 110V.
