Hi gang,
I was shooting my 60mm Micro and dual DS125's in TTL this weekend for macro and fish portraits. I noticed that shooting at f22, I was getting beeps from the strobes indicating that they were firing a full dump.
So I switched the strobes to full power. Yes, believe it or not, you DO need a lot of light to shoot macro even "with digital." Some of you may be saying "duh!" but for me this was a first and a bit of a revelation. I started getting REALLY saturated nice fish portraits w/ my strobes at full power. With the dual DS125's I could shoot f22 out to about 18" to perhaps 2 feet at the most. 2 feet was pushing it.
I''ll post some examples this evening.
Cheers
James
