Deep diving - Milford Haven supertanker wreck, Italy

I started to dive with trimix few months ago and discovered whole new area for UW photography. Deep wrecks are fascinating. Here is one of the most famous - supertanker Milford Haven. It lays at 78m of water near Genova, Italy. We dove down to the bottom to see the propeller but visibility was too bad for reasonable shot so here are some from shallower parts. The wreck is huge. The part you can dive is c. 250 long and 45m high.
More shots from deep dives in Dahab and Liguria on my website.
I have been looking around your site and all I can say is that you have veeeery impressive pics! Of course I included you in My Favourites!!. Of the pics shown in this topic I prefer the depth and perspective of the first one. Congratulations again!!
Magnificent, your pics really convey a mood. And your models really add to, rather than distract from the image. What ISO, exposure was used?
Have you seen Leigh Bishop's stuff featured Underwater Photography magazine a few months ago?
lovely work Darek,
I particularly liked your shot of the arch at Dahab - the one looking up from 90 metres.
Are you using any strengthened ports on your seacam, or just the standard ones?
Steve
Thanks everyone.
I saw Leigh Bishop's shots 2 yrs ago and that triggered me to start deep diving.
All shots were taken with ISO 400 and standard Seacam gear (fisheye domport). I mean also the Arch shot taken at 90m.
Hi Darek,
Very nice shots. I am currently working on my deepdiving skills (Inspiration CCR). Your photos show that it is possible to make nice images at depth.
Thanks,
Andre
Derek - these are fabulous! Please post some more.
Cheers
James
Thank you James.
Well... I've just started the deep explorations so dont have that many shots. There are few more on my webiste. I do like the other Arch shot @ 70m.
But my favourite one is the Polynesian wreck @ 63m. I'm working on an article about diving deep wrecks around Malta so I should have some more shots ready to publish later on.
Awsome pictures!
How did you light the one with Arch at 90m?
The diver seems quite far away (even for a fisheye).
Thanks Andrzej
It's a question of powerful strobes. The Sea&Sea 350 gives you a lot of light. You can see the flash blast on the wall.
