Portable storage

  1. Does anyone have recommendations for a portable storage device?

I don't really want to carry a laptop, I want a screen to view the images, I'd like to put the card from my camera straight in so there's no messing with cables and the like.

I'd rather not pay too much either :D

Until recently I'd be using an ipod - mainly because I had one and the camera connector was cheap - that did the job, albeit in a very poor way. That has now died so its time to either get something a little better, or simply replace the ipod (although not my first choice solution).

I've been reading good reviews on the Epson devices, but not cheap...

  2. I just went through this the same process. I eventually decided that in the interest in cost savings I really didn't need the image preview. You will likely spend a few hundred more for this "feel good" feature.

I eventually settled in the HyperDrive HD80.

Based on my searches, I decided that it was the cheapest, most reliable and most versital portable storage on the market.

You can install your own hard disk, and it uses AA batteries, a real plus in my book.

So far, it works as advertised and I am very happy with it.

A good search of the forums will give you almost all the potential options with many opinions.

    Take care,

    John
