Most versatile port for Ikelite housing and Canon 350XT

  1. Hello everyone,

I am about to purchase the Ikelite housing for my Rebel 350 XT. I am just hoping you could suggest a versatile port for the set-up. Something that will produce good pictures both wide angle and close-up. I realize I will be limited on the real close stuff, but I can only afford one port right now. Maybe one that would work well with my 18-55 lens?

    Thanks, Jeff

  2. Hi Jeff,

The shortest standard dome port is relatively cheap, looks cool and accepts the 18-55, Sigma 15mm fisheye and 35mm F2 lenses (probably others, check the Ikelite website). You can shoot all of them without need for diopters in this port. If budget is an issue, consider looking for a used housing. You may save enough to look at an external strobe which would make your images a lot more colourful.

    Bart

  3. This dome can also be used with 60mm EFS with no diopter, although this lens works better behind a flat port. I use this dome with the 18-55, sigma 15 mm FE and the mentioned macro lens 60 mm EFS. It's the most versatile port, specillally fro traveling.
