I hope that someone here on this forum can help me with my problem.
My Subtronic won’t fire when connected to my Ike D200 hosing.
If I short circuit the strobe and the cable when it's not attached to the housing the strobe fires perfect. But when I connect the strobe and cable to the housing nothing happens. It doesn’t matter if it's the camera connected or if I short circuit the hotshoe. Still no flash.
The strobe and cable works perfect when connected to a Ike D70 housing.

Does your housing have Ike TTL circuitry in it?
If so, you can always rewire the housing yourself. To fire a strobe you just need the trigger and earth connected. Last time I rewired an Ikelite housing (to circumnavigate a fried TTL board) I just connected the black and white wires (which represent the earth and trigger) within the housing wiring and disconnected the others and everything worked fine.
I would suggest waiting a few hours until someone who owns or makes Ikelite can answer you - rather than following my advice.
Alex
Thanks Alex for your answer.
The strange thing is that it worked perfect for 2 months. Then suddenly during a dive it stopped working. My first thought was that I broke the cable. But now I know that the cable is working so it must be something with the Ike electronics that gives me trouble. Or at least that's what I'm thinking.
Will you be shooting in manual? if so, try to put some thin tape like shown in the hot shoe like shown in this page:
or in the three small ones, leaving as Alex said, trigger (middle big round contact) and ground (the one that contacts the main hotshoe piece) as the only contacts. If you are going to rewire, check this too:
I sent you an email (the one in your website) with a wiring summary
Good luck!!
We have had four cameras that have given trouble. These cameras would freeze up every dive or two. Customers had to reset the system by turning the primary strobe off and back on. We could not duplicate the problem with our cameras, so customer sent his camera in. After a few days, we duplicated the problem and have since modified the program to deal with a rare, and unexpected, data interruption from the camera just before the meter turns off. This change was implemented in early July.
The freeze-up can also be eliminated by going to custom function C3 on the D200 menu and setting the meter off time to "no limit."
I went your way Alex and rewired the cables and now everything is working perfect again. Since I'm using a Subtronic Gamma I can't use the iTTL anyway.
So now I'm sitting at the airport waiting for my flight, and tomorrow I'll be in the Red Sea taking nice underwater pictures again.
Happy to hear it is working again. Jealous to hear you will be diving tomorrow.
