I'm just sitting here in the American Airlines terminal at LAX waitng for my connecting flight to Boston. I was on the Naia for a ten day trip featuring Stan Waterman as the celebrity host and a couple of days at Castaway prior to the cruise. All in all it was a very good trip even though the weather was pretty crappy for almost the entire time we were there - grey skies and strong winds. When the dust settles at work in a few days I'll put up a full gallery but here's a sample.
Larry, that's quite a beautiful image! I'm looking forward to seeing more.
FYI I live in Boston too. And I visited Fiji last month. Maybe there will be a Wetpixel reunion at the next Sea Rovers.
Lovely. A great start. Looking forward to more.

That's a very pretty shot. Even though you had grey skies you seem to have nice sun coming through on that image
I was impressed by how clearly you can see the face of the diver - did you have to brighten the face in ps to have it "pop" like that?
Thanks and looking forward to the whole gallery
Wow. That is a nice picture! The lighting is superb.

No rest for the weary. I got to spend exactly 4 hours at home before I had to repack and head out for London on a project for my employer. Oh well, they're the ones that pay the bills and allow me to vacation in Fiji.
To answer Justins question, there wasn't anything much done in PS to highlight the divers face. Just some exposure adjustment of the RAW file in Nikon Capture and a little tweak of the curve in PS.
During the 10 days on Naia we had some sun on about 4 days. The main problem was the wind kicking up to about 35 knots. It made for several very rocky days.
