Just found out that Canon are offering £100 cashback on the 30D which means the best web price so far in the UK is £610 (with the cashback) very cheap. Does this mean Canon are clearing stock for a new camera????

I doubt it, the 30D was only announced in Feb 2006 and the base prices haven't dropped significantly before the rebate. I think it's more just a sign of how much competition there is in the marketplace. Hurrah!
It looks like I'll be able to pick up a spare 5D in the not too distant future without shelling out too much cash.
