I posted a collection of my nudibranch photos on my website :

They are presented in chronological order starting with early ones taken on a compact digicam and finishing on a decent collection of shots from Lembeh Strait.

One of the pics was even published in the 2007 Nudibranch Calendar .

I welcome any comments on the images and my attempts at identifying the cute little critters. If you find any bad ID let me know.

    Cheers,

    Thanks Mike,

The chronological order came about by accident. All my filenames start with the date and would therefore be naturally sorted in chronological order. I only figured out yesterday that I set a permanent custom sort order with an album in coppermine.

I'm glad you liked it that way. I was afraid that by putting the earlier efforts towards the start of the album, some people would get bored and not see my later attempts.

I must admit however that nudibranchs are comparatively easy to photograph. If you go to the right locations (did anyone just whsiper 'Lembeh') all you really need is a decent camera with macro lens. The little critters monstly sit still and there are so many beautiful species.

Compare that to my Ghostpipefish album (pictures were taken over a similar timeframe) it's not quite so rosy. These guys move about and wonder over the seegrass beds for miles. A pair fo them is rarely in the plane of focus.

Which is to say that, although nudibranchs are more beautiful and glamorous (and every anorak's favourite pet critter), ghostpipefishes and to some extend seahorses are more challenging.
