  1. Okay I think I got through 600 students and about the same number of intro's before I hung me finpivoting fins up but it looks like Me and Kel are going to open up a dive shop here in Exmouth (Ningaloo Reef) as we have a very good location now.

So I ask what is the going rate for OW course now days around the place. The guys in town here charge $495 AUD for a 4-5 day course.

I'm not PADI anymore...just could not read any more updates... :) But still a SSI one so the shop will be a SSI.

Also we need a cool name for our shop and logo....any good ideas out there?

Good luck with it - need any tanks , banks , air comps , membranes etc. how about a floaty hole in the water...

So maybe just go for $499.99 plus a free sunny strap

We have a small compressor and banks along with dive gear but will need to get more as it builds.

Could get some more 10.5lt steelies, any good contacts there Peter?

O yes the floaty hole in the water thingy that loves money...we have our small RIB to get us going but will update. Was looking at that Alloy Duck in Airlie Beach Marina, but it only does 24 knots flat out with twin 150 hp 4 strokes. 10/2 survey. Our RIB does 32 fully loaded and 40 empty....

  6. Mr Floppy's dive shop :D

    Keep them coming.

Hey Dean, today I chucked the EVO into the pelican case and we wizzed out in the bumpy RIB at 25 knotts to put a couple kids I'm teaching through their first OW dives.

Took the EVO down with me, and even let the kids film with it. It's perfect for this kind of work, unlike the Phenom which takes planning. All controls worked a treat, even my manual exposure mod but again you have to lock the shutter on these things and kick that auto gain back to -1 or -2 for beter shots. Got home and 4 hours later jumped under the shower with it for a quick wash, gave it a wipe and it's ready to go again.

Would have thought that Sharkies ..... dive shop was a natural. Merchandise spinoff should be more than the income from courses.

  8. As a new guy to underwater photography, and of course realizing what a small niche group we are, something indicative of your underwater photo and video expertise is always a plus. ie..I remember forking over a cool $60 bucks for the video of me scooting around underwater for the first time. K-Wags Ningaloo Reef Adventures. subtitle underwater video specialiists!

  9. And we also need a name for our outdoor resturant we are fixing up and want to re open.

We thought of maybe Nudie Cafe :(

Then we could be Nudie Divers as well ;)
