I am planning a trip to La Paz for the Christmas holiday and thinking of Club Cantamar. I asked two groups of people actually working in La Paz. One group said it's the wrong time to go to La Paz at that time. Water is cold there. And it's rare to see scuba divers at that time in La Paz. However, the people in Club Cantamar told me that it's the best time for sea lions and hammer head. (Though they did mention that winter diving is really weather permiting.)
So basically I am totally confused weather or not to go. I am wondering if any of you can give me a little bit of more information.
Thanks a lot!

I think all of the above is pretty much correct. It will be windy and the water is fairly cold. The sharks do come up shallower, although getting out to El Bajo is difficult as the seas must be calm. The sea lions are good all the time. ;-)
It's sort of catch as catch can, mostly due to wind, you might go for 5 days and only get out 2-3.
But hey, you won't have any hurricanes!
Fall and mid-late spring are the best times.

I just returned from Club Cantamar and what is said above is spot on true.
The winds start to pick up for rhe winter months and water cools. When the winds pick up you cannot get out to dive. We could not get out one day and we were at the end of summer season. Thewaters were still 83 degrees. Based on seeing that I would say each day would be a crap shoot on whether you would get to dive or not. That was also the impression I got from the Dive guides when chatting.
Cheers
