My girl friend loves diving and owns two cameras so I was think of getting her a WP housing for her Canon A70 (which may no be the best camera in the world but its the older of the two so she won't cry if it got wet). To which would probably be the Canon WP-DC700.
I haven't found any reviews on this case and was wonding what people had to say about them or if there's another case the fits this camera. Also can you mount external flashes on the housing and how do they work/attatch to the housing. And how do the add on lenses a fix to the housing. My photo ability goes as far as pressing the button she's a little more into it. Any info or guidence would be hugely appriciated.
Cheers
yep, the Canon housing is a good choice, i use two in my rental dept and have a few friends with them. just make sure you rinse properly after a dive to keep salt out of the buttons.
you can purchase an add on mount from Inon that will screw into the tripod mount under the housing and this will cover the lens. This mount will then allow the use of macro and wide add on lenses as well as strobes.
As for flash, you would need to use a strobe that works with a fibre optic cable and slave. Basically you tape/velcro the cord to housing in front of the internal flash and then to the strobe. the external strobe fires when the internal one does. Again i would suggest perhaps an Inon strobe for this as they work well and quite small with lots of power.
