I leave for Lembeh in less than two weeks, and wondered if anyone is/has recently been in that area to shed light on current water temps. Otherwise, I'll assume 78-80ish.

Current water temps at Lembeh?
-
-
that sounds about right (between 25 and 28 celcius). personnally given the time spent underwater and the number of dives done i use a 5mm full suit. (i have been to lembeh in february, august, september and october and have never been really cold or warm there with that insulation)
if you are going to lembeh resort say hi to danny, karl and linda for me...
enjoy the critters

Hi Bruce,
I usually drop a note to the resort to ask a member of the dive team what the temp has been and they are always eager to get me the answer. I have done this with a number of the resorts I have been too.
Have a great trip. Where will you be staying?

I was there 3 weeks ago and I used 3mm full wetsuit on top of hooded vest ( 5&3 mm ) . I feel perfect all the time , even during long dives at night .
The guides at Lembeh use 5mm .
During my stay the water was clear ( for Lembeh standards ) and almost not current
Good luck

I always wear a hood at Lembeh...not necessarily for warmth, but more to minimize the amount of "muck" that gets in my ears. With dive sites named things like "Hairball" and trash often floating on the surface at some sites, I'd prefer an airtight space suit, but a hood (in addition to helping keep one warm) at least seems like SOME protection from "the elements"...

You are very right ! Even with the hood , i get a mild ear infection after diving at Police Pier . Also some places have a lot of jellyfish at the surface.
I recommend everyone diving Lembeh to use some drops to dry the ears at the end of the day . I use Domeboro from Bayer and works perfect .( i forgot to use it the day i did Police Pier ).
