Sealux pilot light battery charger -> Type?

2 posts
  1. Hi,

I have recently bought a used housing for my Nikon SB-800 flash. The housing is produced by Sealux (CX-80), and has an integrated pilot light. The pilot light gets its power from a sealed battery pack. It's shape suggests that there are 5 rechargable AAA batteries.

Does anyone know what type of batteries these are? My problem is that I have no information about how to charge them (what currant? how long?). And I know that overcharging batteries negatively impatcts their capacity.

I unfortunately do not have the original charger, and the 2 pages manual that followed the housing does not mention how to charge the batteries...

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Oliver

  2. Hi Oliver

I believe you are correct, the batteries are NiMh AAAs in a pre-wired heat shrink case and are non-user replaceable (without a soldering iron that is).

The charger which I was supplied with for my CX800 housing is an ANSMANN energy ACS 110 traveller. The charger comes with an assortment of plugs for both mains and output and will autosense between 1.2V and 12V.

Here's a link to their website for the charger:

    Cheers,

    Colin
