NEW Eneloop AA batteries

4 posts
  1. I recently bought some of the new Sanyo Eneloop NiMh batteries. Their big claim to fame is that they don't lose their charge like other NiMH batteries. A year after being charged, they retain 90% of their charge. However, the AA size have only a 2000mA capacity, which is considerably less than many other NiMH batteries currently available, so I'm just wondering how they perform underwater.

If nobody has tried them yet, I plan to give them a try on my upcoming Indonesia trip, and I'll report back.

  2. I have not tried them - but if they really do not loose their charge 2000mAh still sounds OK and may be preferable over what I am used to.

  3. I reckon to keep in my 580EX a set would be ideal, because I use that on a more adhoc basis than my UW strobes. Generally with the strobes I have enough warning that I'm going to need them (e.g. buying the plane tickets, packing the bags, etc) that I can afford the hour or so to charge a set of 2700mAh. YMMV.

  4. I have used them for the past two months and find them no different as far as recycle times or number of flashes compared to my 2500mAh and they do seem to hold their charge
