I have a Canon Powershot S45 with the Canon 300 housing. I own two Sea and Sea YS 120 Duo strobes and would like to use them if possible. Is there a slave controller that will make them usable in manual mode? How would I set up the dual strobes? ![]()

That's a very good question! I'm not familiar with your camera, but if it does NOT emit a preflash, then you MIGHT be able to use the strobes as slaves. You might be able to adapt and use the Sea and Sea fiber optic kit to "send" the light from the camera to the slave sensors on the YS120's but that kit is DESIGNED for the YS90DX's.
If your camera fires preflashes, then you will need to look for another alternative.

I tried just setting them to slave. Preflash is not strong enough to set off the slave. This works fine or in macro or if there is a large reflective subject area in wide angle. But I am afraid that it will not work for wide angle in open water with a small subject. I plan to sell the Sea and Sea YS120 Duo to buy the Ikelite DS125s.
