Here is the strobe line-up Sea and Sea was showing at DEMA. I was told the YS-250 would be somewhat smaller than this prototype (at far right) when it ultimately ships. post-630-1164721423_thumb.jpg

  6. thanks for the pic Stephen

I have one of the 110s in my office at the moment (not mine) and it is significantly smaller than my 120s. Judging by your pic i would say the new 250 is right about the same as the 120 but a bit fatter.

But... too busy shooting video to have had a chance to test out the 110 as of yet..

  7. Any ideas concerning iTTL/eTTL compatibility and price?

I may be in the market for new strobes shortly.

  8. With respect to compatibility it'll be much the same as the YS-110. That is preflash capable Nikonos style TTL, which Sea&Sea support using the Nikon and Canon TTL Converters.

  9. I just found this web page on the companies' Japanese website concerning the new YS250PRO.

Still no price or availability info yet.

    Comments, anyone?

  10. Well, its nice to get the specs fleshed out. 105 coverage without the diffuser makes for a very usable gun. The 250g of lift is a nice to have also. Fingers crossed those knobs are robust, though if the rest of the range is anything to go by they should be fine.

If they make the same pigs ear of scheduling the CE marking for the 250 they did for the 110, we won't see them until next year. Canada might be more fortunate. We shall see.

  11. Ha ha! The Sea&Sea US site now has the YS-250PRO featuring "widescreen" in their front page ad rotator, but no page for it yet and not in the product list yet. So maybe late this year, yay!
