ok have to admit that seeing all your great moving images and reading all of drew's report on dema and dvexpo i am being more and more tempted to try out this thing with moving images...
now i definitely want to go with hd and i am very tempted by the little toy that drew pointed out, the canon hv10. i have seen that there are a number of housings that are coming out for it so i am not worried about getting it housed and being able to get most of the little toys for it.
what i'd like to know from all the gurus out there, if this makes sense, is, aside from the intrinsic quality that comes from better and more numerous sensorsand better optics i am sure, what are some functions that i will have to do without with such a setup. it seems from reading the descriptions that it has most functions that I (as a beginner) could want on a camera at least to satisfy this strange craving of wanting to capture moving images.
maybe another way of framing my question using a still camera vocabulary could be: where on the scale of basic P&S to beginner dslr to a mid level dslr to a 1 series (or d2 series for nikon) dlsr would the hv10 fit? dunno if this makes sense to all of you out there??? ![]()
anyway all input and advice is welcome before i go a commit to a xmas present to myself
...
thanks to all/paul
