I thought I'd ask first instead of trying to disassemble it and see how far I get.
Is the modeling light on the Ikelite DS125 user replacable or do I need to send it to Ike for a watertight repair?
thanks

It is user replaceable, but the last time I opened up my Ike housing, I was scared to death to put it back together. Ike? Any tips? ![]()
Replacing the modeling light bulb is very simple and described in the instruction book. Simply unscrew the center post which may require a coin or screwdriver, lift out this post, and invert the front so bulb drops out. Put a little lube on the "O" ring and reverse this procedure to install new bulb.
Early strobes had a brighter bulb that consumed more battery power. We have used a less powerful bulb the last year to conserve battery power for more flashes. #0042.56 is the brighter bulb; #0042.34 is presently used and recommended.
Thanks Ike, I'm sure others were wondering about that too.
