  1. Scrawled filefish, Cozumel

    Sea & Sea DX100 60mm 2.8 macro DS125, full power

    ISO200 M 1/200 F18

RAW file + 1/2 EV, cloned a couple spots of backscatter and unsharp mask, no crop

It was an ambush shot, as I pick a spot and let him swim to it.

  2. sorry image didn't attach

  3. That's very nice. It seems I have many going away or distant shots of these guys. Nice color, good positioning. It would have been nice to have the whole fish but it still makes an interesting and beautiful photo.

  4. Good shot, you catch the filefish in good position.

Its probably was better if the shot was little down so the fish was all in the frame.

Also maybe to take the frame a little bit to the right so the fish eye won't me exactly in the middle, and maybe more from the coral in the right inside the frame.

  5. Agree with Alto. A little down and more to the right would have got better composition & sense of proportion. Still nice shot.

  6. Alternatively, could have shifted left, or just cropped the image. The coral on the right could be a bit distracting. Beautiful shot!!

  7. Very nice indeed! Have you considered cropping in tight on the fishes face to make a portrait? You should have plenty of pixels to work with.

    Cheers

Yes James, I've done a couple of crops. That's sort of where the Don Knott's title came from.

I like this one best. It has some personality.

    Enjoy

  9. Here is a horizontal crop that's a little tighter but it seems to lose something.

    What do you think?

  10. First crop is definitely better. You lose too much in the second.
