Okay last topic today, for those who did the firmware update have you noticed any difference in the way the images come out, either on the LCD or the computer screen? I spoke with Alex M, a few weeks ago and he said that his images are less saturated than before he did the upgrade, anyone else see a difference?

I noticed a difference in the LCD, especially the blues, but didn't notice anything different in the computer screen. But this is a subjective assesment, since I didn't have the exact same shot to compare before and after...

Yeah, my feeling is that my camera is not exactly as it used to be.
This may be due to the firmware upgrade, or it may be some problem with the camera or with the operator. It is difficult to differentiate!
I keep meaning to take the camera in to Nikon Service - but I have been too busy using the bloody thing.
The two issues I have at present that seem to have appeared recently. These are:
1) I find it very difficult to get the camera to clip shadows. Even with some underexposure (0.7, say) I still get shadow detail and very little clipping. Some would say this is a positive! And it can easily be compensated in the RAW converter. But I am sure the camera used to clip more.
2) Auto WB has more of a tendency to push the tint up (adding too much magenta). This may be related to the conditions I am diving in - as with the D2X I find that the camera tries to add too much Magenta in the WB when the water is slightly greeny - trying to force the water to be blue-blue. Easily dealt with in camera by switching WB mode or in RAW converter.
Neither is a big problem - and neither effects images post RAW conversion. Which is why I have not stopped shooting.
I would like to compare my camera side by side with another D2X to see if it is the camera or the user who is faulty.
