  2. good stuff, i like how the Batfish are all lined up.

    6 weeks eh?!?!?! NICE!

  3. Very nice. We are looking to go to this area. If you only had 10 days where would you go and any suggestions for ops?

  4. WOW!!! Where do I sign up for 6 weeks diving in Indonesia???? ;)

Did any place stand out above the rest (for those of us who might be able to stay quite so long)?

Looks like you got some nice shots.

    Just sign me "jealous"

  5. hi,

    hmmm,where to go.

buton and komodo is only by liveabord,in bali and wakatobi you can stay land based.

buton is aviable via the wakatobi/pelagian liveabord but there are only 4 divespots, normaly they go there for 2 days in one trip.the 4 spots are:

1.sandy slope (you can compare to lembeh but no black sand)

2.a big pier (also like lembeh)

3.a small jetty (dusk dive with mandarin fish galore)

    4.a seagrass place

for about 10 days komodo is fantastic and bali/tulamben-seraya is also a good choice land based.

we stayed with tulamben wreck divers/tony medcraft which i really can recommend in the tulamben area.

its a very nice resort and you get the BEST price in this area.he also organised us some days in secret bay/menjang island and pj.if you dont need overpriced wannabe luxury resorts(tauchterminal/scuba seraya) go there !!!!

wakatobi is also very good but for freaky stuff its not the place to go. of course its one of the best choices in indonesia if you like high standard and world class diving but i must admit since our last visit 2004 it grew bigger and lost most of its charme it had when it was more family style and smaller.

    komodo/rinca

horseshoe bay is really an amazing place and the rest of komodo is also top diving, you get alot of everything

but cannibal rock will give you the overkill :-))

    our trip was like this:

2 trips on mv pelagian, first trip 11 days greater wakatobi area+buton, second trip 15days buton and then off to komodo/rinca/sumbawa/bali.

after that 12 days in bali/tulamben.

    hope this helps

  8. Hi Marco,

Nice to have met you in Tulamben.

Great images, by the way. Some of those critters look familiar. ;)

I look forward to seeing more of your images on your website.

    Cheers.
