"Must Have" options on Video set up....

  1. Hi,

I am a totally newbie in this world. I look forward to getting many valuable insights from you guys.

Currently, I have Sony PC series.

I am wondering if the wide angle option and manual focus mode are the “must have†options in underwater.

I was told that I can’t get a good “still image†only with the “Auto†mode. I am only interested in a still image, not a photo at all. :D

    Thanks in advance,

    Happy New Year! ;)

  2. you will find that auto focus works quite nicely in clear water as well as macro. In wide angle situations where the water is turbid then being able to lock focus manually is very important so the focus does not go in and out.

Locking manual focus is also nice in certain macro situations like a shrimp on a waving anemone for instance.

But, i end up using auto focus quite a bit with little difficulty.

Yes, a wide lens is a great addition for your video. Most of the time this is taken care of by purchasing a wide angle port which works in conjunction with your standard lens.
