  1. Hi,

Following is pictures taken from Anilao, Philippines this week.

Even though I had trouble with S&S i-TTL converter, it really worked

    well & provid well balanced light, using 2x Z220 & 2 x YS-120duo.

Nikkor 105mm VR lens allow me to open f-stop to as low as 3.3.

  3. Very nice photos. :)

What dive op did you dive with in Anilao? I am going in 3 weeks to Anilao too. Looks like there are lots of shrimps in the crinoids again. See any other special critters??? Were any of the sites "hot"???

  4. Anilao is one of the best places I have ever dived...very underrated. You have some very nice images but the shallow DOF is not working for me in some of them; particularly the coleman shrimp.

    B) Shhhhhhhh....... I totally agree. I love the place. Will be my 6th year to Anilao in Feb 2007. I always get some fantastic shots there. This time will be my first time shooting digital with my new D80.

More Coleman shrimps from Basura point...It was all gone after 4 major typhoon in Philippines last year but, most of them are now back to Basura.

    Thanks!

I stay at SM resort most of time & is right next to 'Outrigger' resort. It is dive guides who know 'hot'dive points there & I have phone numbers of several good guides and call them first.

Anyway, I did not see special critters this time other than I posted but, you never know what you are going to see there....so many things....

  9. Sam,

I really like the pics and the shallow depth of field on the first coleman you posted I find very interesting (seeing mostly "eyes").

Did you find the 105vr lens easy to use and override? I can't wait to get mine in the water - was shooting topside with it tonight opened to 3.3.

Are you planning on adding/trying any more magnification with the 105vr in the future?

I've never been to the Philippines - ah, another place added to my list.....

    Thanks for posting, Carol

  10. Nice shots !
