First image with a MacroMate Lens

  1. I recently got a MacroMate lens and I got it wet for the first time today. We went to Naples Reef off of Goleta. Vis was around 20ft, but the water was pretty cold (54F). The water temp wasn't so bad, but in the morning the air was in the 40s. Who says it never gets cold in Southern California? All I can say is that the MacroMate is a great lens, but is hard to use. There was a bit of surge and I had a hard time getting it to focus lock. I need to work on using either manual focus or the AE button to lock the focus. Even so I got one keeper. I think he looks like a little old man hunched over.

  2. I'm not seeing the little old man thing but it looks pretty sweet just the same. I'd say your focus was right on.
